This next one is actually a town that was once in Germany. We visited with a friend when there was a Christmas market on.

Design aspects
In my archaeological artefacts lecture today, at UCL, we had a visit from Bill Sillar. He enlightened us on the origins for the design of the red UK phone box (among many other things). Giles Gilbert Scott based it on the John Soane Mausoleum in St Pancras Old Churchyard.
As a class we recently visited LARC where the original architectual model for the red phone box is kept. It’s about 1 metre in height. Annoyingly I didn’t take a camera.

My husband has been in Tokyo again for business and has sent me a few shots for the blog.
Tripoli
We visited Libya on a short tour to see the archaeological sites. I couldn’t find any phone boxes but they do have phone shops.

I visited Venice c.1999, in February, with a couple of friends.
